About the activity

Who was Juozas Gruodis? Why is his work as a composer important to us? What is growing in Juozas Gruodis’s garden? We invite you to get to know the composer J. Gruodis by hunting for the treasure hidden in his garden. Let’s meet at the composer’s house. Designed by the inter-war architect Feliksas Vizbaras. This building is one of the few remaining examples of wooden modernist architecture and has been granted the status of a cultural heritage object. Here you will learn about the biography and works of Juozas Gruodis and embark on a treasure hunt in the garden, which was planted by the composer himself.

This activity can be adapted for other age groups and families. Passport to Culture activity (for pupils in Years 2-6).
