About the activity

Are you interested in architecture, fine art, or interior design from the period of the First Republic of Lithuania? Ši ekskursija – tai pažintis su muziejumi, kaip kultūros paveldo objektu, iš arti!

This guided tour is an up-close introduction to the museum as a cultural heritage site. During the tour, you will explore the exterior and interior details of the Mikas and Kipras Petrauskas House and how they changed over time, as well as acquire an overview of the restorations that have taken place and the building’s valuable features that have been preserved. We will tell you how the house’s layout was changed to suit the museum’s needs and, when you visit Kipras Petrauskas’s authentic apartment, you will be able to admire the restored interior, where a synthesis of Lithuanian design traditions and art deco occurs. And what has been preserved under the carpet in the staircase? Will you be able to tell the difference between an ancient door and their analogue? Which Lithuanian artists’ paintings are exhibited in this house? Find out the answers when you come and visit us!

This guided tour is also available in English.
