About the activity

Have you ever wondered what secrets are hidden in a simple tube? It forms the basis of many musical instruments, including the panpipes, the clarinet, the saxophone and even the organ! In this educational workshop, you will use carpentry tools to make a real musical instrument out of a natural ‘tube’ that grows on the banks of a river. First, you will make a panpipe, then a whistle, and eventually a flute, which you will also learn to play. You will become ‘famous’ sound masters and entertain friends, family and fans with your handmade panpipes.

This activity is suitable for people with reduced mobility. Can be adapted for families. Passport to Culture activity (for pupils in grades 5-8).
