About the activity

Now that the Three Kings have departed, let’s get ready for Užgavėnės, a fun and lively celebration of winter ending!

When you arrive at the Folk Music Museum, you will be thrown into a wild musical-improvisational frenzy, where you will create your own character (bringing masks is not compulsory but you can definitely bring your own if you wish), dress up in fascinating masks, gain the courage to quarrel and make up, create and play Užgavėnės instruments, and experience the customs and meaning of this joyful Lithuanian carnival. You will apply your knowledge in a public performance and the Užgavėnės quiz. You may even earn the ‘Užgavėnės Parish Fair Paper’! Are you feeling intrigued? Then don’t delay!

This activity is recommended for ethno-cultural education.
