Noble Affairs in the City

Did you know that Kaunas Castle is the oldest brick castle in Lithuania? It is even older than Kaunas itself. The castle not only stood strong in defending the country against the Crusaders, but also served as a place for Lithuanian rulers to receive nobles, foreign envoys, and other distinguished guests. We have put together the colourful history of Kaunas Castle like a mosaic of different periods and invite you to explore it.

About the tour

We all know what ‘living like a nobleman’ looks like. But would you like to feel like a real nobleman? The Elder of Kaunas Castle invites you to come to the city together to settle some affairs. After leaving the castle, passing through the Little Vatican and under the protection of St. George, we will reach the city’s gates. At the Town Hall we will be received by the ruler’s vicegerent, with whom we will have the honour of discussing the common affairs of the nobility and the citizens. See you at the castle!
