Skamba, skamba… Easter!
About the activity
Saint Easter is a joyful celebration where we welcome spring, explore nature’s rebirth, and strengthen community ties, combining ancient customs and beliefs with the ways of modern-day people.
During this activity, you will learn about the reasons behind the long-lasting tradition of celebrating Easter, its valuable and interesting musical-improvisational heritage, and its new meanings: you will hear about the folklore of pre-Easter (Palm Sunday), Easter, and post-Easter (leading up to the Second Sunday of Easter), discuss which parts are relevant to us today, and why people’s needs and relationships were different in the past. You will form your own Easter band and make music using natural and educational materials; play fun Easter games; and test your knowledge in an Easter quiz!
