About the tour

Come and sit yourself down on the singing park bench, soak up the sweet aroma of the linden trees in the City Garden, and take a journey through the winding history of the Kaunas State Musical Theatre.

We will tell you all about the State School of Music, which later became a conservatoire, and the teachers who taught there. You will learn how the State Theatre was founded and what role it played in the cultural and political life of the First Republic of Lithuania. You will meet the most prominent conductors, soloists, directors, ballet masters, and other important figures who worked in the theatre at that time. You will also have the opportunity to peruse the State Theatre’s authentic props and try on stage costumes.

Pop in and find out what stories Kaunas State Musical Theatre has to tell.
